Keenan Norris's novel Brother and the Dancer won the 2012 James D. Houston Award. He's also the editor ofStreet Lit: Representing the Urban Landscape. His upcoming book is Born by the River: Richard Wright, Barack Obama and "Chi-Raq". Keenan serves as a guest editor for the Oxford African American Studies Center and he teaches at Goddard College and Evergreen Valley College. He holds an M.F.A. from Mills College and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside.
